A Note from Mr. Burris
Good afternoon BCS Family,
I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving with family and friends! There are many things to be thankful for as a school community here at Brazosport Christian School.
Many of your churches might have celebrated the first Sunday of Advent this past weekend. The focus of that first candle that is lit is hope. We look to both fulfilled prophecy as well as those prophecies that point to our Savior’s second coming as a source of hope. No matter the circumstances we find ourselves in as we head into the Christmas season, we can always find hope in the Person of Jesus!
Lamentations 3:21–23
“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.”
Hope is a reality because of the steadfast love of God.
I love how the puritan Richard Baxter said it:
“Hope is the grace that sets the Christian’s head highest above all waves.”
As the lights and tree go up, look for opportunities to talk with your kids about the real reason for the season, the hope of salvation that comes through the Person of Jesus.
In Him,
Cody Burris
Interim Head of School
In Christ there is hope.

BCS Highlights
Operation Christmas Child
A message from Mrs. Wied…The BCS students and families did an amazing job this year supplying Operation Christmas Child boxes to children around the world. Last year we delivered 132 boxes to the drop off center. Friday we celebrated the delivery of 204 boxes packed with love, prayers and hope. Each recipient will not only receive a box, but the opportunity to hear the gospel provided through a 12 week Bible course. They will also receive a Bible written in their language. Praise the Lord for the opportunity to share His word through a shoebox. Thank you to all the students and teachers who packed, loaded, unloaded and served as quality control. You truly are the hands and feet of Jesus.
Thank You, BCS!
