Eagle Updates Newsletter – Dec 15, 2025
A Note from Mr. Burris
Dear BCS Family,
Thank you for making this semester at BCS such a wonderful one. God has certainly blessed our school, and I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and faithful prayers. Time and again, we have seen our teachers, coaches, and administrators go above and beyond to love and serve our students and families with excellence and care.
Our parents and grandparents have also supported the mission of BCS in remarkable ways—showing up night after night for athletic events, generously volunteering through our PTF, and most recently filling our gymnasium for our Fine Arts Christmas program. Many of you have supported Brazosport Christian School financially and I want to express my heartfelt gratitude. We are truly grateful for the love, commitment, and partnership you show our school. BCS is a wonderful place to serve, and we are thankful for each of you.
It is fitting that our community is a giving one, as we seek to model our lives after our God, who is the ultimate Giver. This season reminds us that the God of the universe loved lost humanity so deeply that He gave His one and only Son for the salvation of our souls and the forgiveness of our sins. My encouragement to you this Christmas season is to continue cultivating a heart of generosity and to look for ways to bless others. The greatest gift you can ever give someone is the Gospel. May we be faithful to share the greatest gift ever given with those around us this holiday season.
Isaiah 9:6 (ESV)
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
I leave you with this thoughtful quote from the late R.C. Sproul, which is certainly worth pondering:
R.C. Sproul (1939–2017)
“The greatest gift of the gospel is not forgiveness, or heaven, but Christ Himself.”
In Him,
Cody Burris
Interim Head of School

BCS Highlights
YeeHaw! Our Elementary students had a rootin’-tootin’ good time at Cowboy Christmas last week! PTF planned a morning full of cowboy fun and Christmas cheer! From crafts and chow to hayrides, stick-horse ridin’, tumbleweed tossin’, and a special reminder of the true meaning of Christmas with a real cowboy, our students had an absolute blast! Thank you, PTF and volunteers, for making this day such a treat!
Mrs. Liles’ first graders wrapped up their thankfulness project with Christmas cheer! After learning how to write a proper letter, each student chose a special staff member to thank for all they do at BCS. They wrote heartfelt notes, then hand-delivered their letters and a festive poinsettia to brighten their day!
