Eagle Updates Newsletter – Feb 17, 2026
A Note from Mr. Burris
Dear BCS Families,
We were truly blessed with a wonderful turnout for our annual Grandparents Day celebration last Friday. Thank you for your outstanding participation and support—it was a joy to see generations gathered together, celebrating the heritage and faithfulness that make our school community so special. The Lord has been exceedingly good to Brazosport Christian School this year, and I firmly believe He has great things still ahead for us.
With Spring Break just around the corner, this is a fitting time to pause, reflect, and count our blessings. The pace of the school year moves quickly—assignments, athletics, fine arts, chapel services, and daily lessons filling our calendars—but through it all, God’s faithfulness has remained constant.
Scripture reminds us:
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:18
So often, people spend countless hours trying to discern God’s will for their lives. Yet here, the Apostle Paul clearly tells the believers in Thessalonica that part of God’s will is simple and profound: give thanks. Count your blessings.
Instead of focusing solely on unfinished assignments, upcoming tournaments, or exams on the horizon, let us take a moment to recognize the growth we’ve witnessed—in knowledge, in friendships, and most importantly, in biblical understanding and Christlike character.
The busyness of Spring can easily sweep us along, but we all need the reminder to slow down and notice the goodness of God in our lives. Perhaps tonight, as you gather around the dinner table, take a few moments as a family to share the blessings the Lord has poured out on each of you.
“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” — Psalm 126:3
When we intentionally count our blessings, we are reminded that God has provided more than enough—wisdom for every challenge, strength for busy days, and grace for every moment.
Thank you for partnering with us in this mission. It is a joy to serve alongside you as we continue to pursue excellence in Christ.
With gratitude,
Cody Burris

Let’s Bless Our Staff
Our teachers and staff faithfully bless our students every single day through their encouragement, dedication, and Christ-centered leadership. Now it’s our turn to bless them!
For our March Staff Recognition, we’re inviting our BCS families to help us show appreciation in a tangible way. We’ve created a SignUpGenius with a list of items we would love to have donated. You may drop off the items to the front desk or coordinate with a PTF Board Member to pick up.
If you’re able to contribute, please take a moment to sign up HERE.
Every item, big or small, helps us remind our staff how valued and appreciated they truly are.
Thank you for partnering with PTF to love on those who love our students so well!
BCS Highlights
Grandparent’s Day and Silent Auction
Grandparents Day was such a special time on our campus! We loved welcoming our grandparents and special guests as they enjoyed performances, classroom visits, and sweet moments with their grandchildren. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so meaningful.
We also want to say thank you for your incredible generosity through our Class Project Silent Auction. Because of you, we raised $3,166.00 for our school! Every dollar truly matters and directly supports our students and programs. We are so grateful for your continued support!
Experience HCU
Members of our junior class recently attended Experience HCU at Houston Christian University. They had a wonderful visit, exploring campus, learning more about the college admissions process, and gaining insight into the exciting season ahead as they begin preparing for life after high school. We love seeing our students take these important next steps toward their future!
