A Note from Mr. Burris
Dear BCS Families,
A biblical concept that is at the heart of our staff these days is faithfulness.
In a culture that often celebrates the flashy, the impressive, and the immediately successful, we need to be reminded that the Lord evaluates things much differently. God consistently places a high value on faithfulness in the ordinary, everyday moments of life.
Jesus reminds us of this truth in Luke 16:10:
“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.”
Faithfulness is not primarily about grand achievements; it is about steady obedience. It is showing up, doing what God has called us to do, and trusting Him with the results. Whether in the classroom, the home, or the workplace, the Lord is pleased when His people walk faithfully before Him, even when the task seems small or unseen.
The Apostle Paul echoes this mindset in Galatians 6:9:
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
As a school community, this truth encourages both our faculty and our students. Daily lessons, consistent discipline, patient growth, and quiet perseverance are all part of how God shapes hearts and minds over time at BCS. Faithfulness today often bears fruit far beyond what we can immediately see.
John Piper once offered this helpful reminder:
“Tasks don’t have to be high-impact to be worthy of high effort. Most things we do in any given day are relatively low impact. The cumulative impact of thousands of low-impact tasks is huge. These tasks can be transposed into worship.”
What a comfort it is to know that God honors steady faithfulness, even when progress feels slow. May we encourage one another to remain faithful in the small things, trusting that the Lord is at work through them all.
In Him,
Cody Burris

BCS Highlights
From the Classroom to the Courthouse!
Our 8th grade students put their civics learning into action today with a guided tour of the Brazoria County Courthouse. They toured the jury selection room, met an officer and bailiff, learned about county courts, and visited the 412th District Court with Judge Justin Gilbert.
A huge thank you to Judges Courtney and Justin Gilbert for welcoming our students and for your faithful service to our county and state! We are so grateful for this hands-on learning opportunity!
Senior Boys Visit Davis A/C & Heating, Inc.
Last Friday, a group of our senior boys had the opportunity to visit Davis A/C & Heating, Inc. in Angleton for a behind-the-scenes look at the HVAC industry. Students observed the day-to-day work of a service manager and technician and learned what a career in the skilled trades looks like firsthand.
We are grateful to Davis A/C & Heating for welcoming our students, sharing their time and expertise, and helping expose our seniors to real-world career opportunities.
