A Note from Mr. Burris
Hey BCS Family,
As we step into another week at Brazosport Christian School, I’m reminded of how Ephesians 3 concludes—with Paul’s heartfelt love and prayers for the believers in Ephesus. His words beautifully express what I pray for our school community as well:
Ephesians 3:14–21
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of His glory He may grant you to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
My encouragement to you this week is to rest in the truth that your children are loved, cared for, and prayed over. It’s my deep desire that our students grow in their faith and understanding of God’s truth, specifically as it relates to the love that Jesus has for them—and that you, as their parents, would be rooted in love and come to know more deeply the boundless love of Jesus Christ as a family.
Our culture often distorts biblical truths by redefining words like love. But when we anchor our understanding in Scripture, we see love clearly for what it is: sacrificial, gracious, and relentlessly committed to another’s good—above our own—to the glory of God alone. Jesus demonstrated this perfectly: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Pass this truth along to your children. As you do, you’ll be pointing them to the greatness of God and His incomparable love—a love that not only transforms hearts but leads us to love others with this same kind of love.
Consider these words from Pastor John Piper:
“Do you feel more loved when God makes much of you … or do you feel more loved when God enables you … to enjoy making much of Him forever?”

BCS Highlights
Friday was a great day for a 1st Grade Pumpkin Parade!
Our first graders showed off their creativity by decorating pumpkins to look like their favorite book characters. Mrs. Liles and Mrs. Sheffield invited classes to parade through and see all the festive creations. What a fun way to celebrate reading and fall!
Some of our 10th grade students recently participated in the ABC Texas Gulf Coast Construction Exhibition, where they experienced hands-on activities and learned more about potential careers in construction. We’re grateful for opportunities like this that help our students explore future career paths!
