Eagle Updates Newsletter – Oct 20, 2025
A Note from Mr. Burris
Hey BCS Family,
I hope your Fall Break was refreshing and a true blessing to you and your loved ones. As we return, we step into an exciting and full week—Spirit Week—with so much ahead: Open House, the C. Woodard Invitational, volleyball and football games, the Pep Rally, and Homecoming, just to name a few.
Before we jump back into the busyness, I want to encourage you to pause and go to the Lord in prayer. This is important because the remainder of the term will move quickly, and before we know it, Thanksgiving and Christmas will be upon us. As we begin the second half of the semester, I want to personally encourage you, as parents, to pray intentionally for your child’s teachers, coaches, administrators, and all of the staff here at BCS.
The Lord has been so good to us this year, and as a team we fully recognize that every blessing we’ve experienced is the direct result of His kindness and faithfulness. We deeply cherish your prayers and value your partnership. What we are doing is more than just education—it is a spiritual work. And for this work to remain fruitful and Christ-honoring, we must stand together in prayer, interceding for every person connected to our school community.
James 5:16 (NIV)
“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
1 John 5:14–15 (NIV)
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.”
We cannot rely on our talents, programs, or efforts to thrive as a school community. Our strength and success are found in Christ alone. So let’s call upon the name of the Lord together, asking Him to pour out His favor, protection, and revival over our school—for His glory.
“When we work, we work. When we pray, God works.”
