October Recap

Written by Anna Magallanes, Director of Development

Great things are happening at BCS on a regular basis! It’s hard to capture each and every event, but I try to get them all into the weekly blogs. Cheek with us each week as we list what’s going on and post a few pictures of the events!

Preschool teacher and students dressed in purple without planning it!Do you ever have those days where everything just works out perfectly?  Well Mrs. Menard’s Preschool class definitely had one of those days recently when every single child (and the teacher) wore a shade of purple!!  After googling the meaning of the color purple it states that it represents power and ambition among other great things!  I think this class is definitely headed into leadership! Preschool also recently did the great pumpkin drop as they dropped pumpkins to learn about gravity.

Premier Martial Arts of Lake Jackson visited campus this week and taught several PE classes some Martial Arts techniques.  Dakota Perry who is the Program Director was one of the two instructors on site, and is an Alumni from BCS Class of 2014.  Tyler Raymond is the head instructor and has been doing martial arts since the age of 13.  If you are interested in further information on Premier Martial Arts which is the only mixed martial arts studio in Brazoria County, teaching Krav Maga, Taekwondo, Karate, Kickboxing and Brazilian Jujitsu, please check out their website at https://premiermartialarts.com/lakejackson/ and check out their November special of 20% off.  We want to say a big thank you to them for their time in working with our children this week!

Head of School and Principal standing together showing that they are good sports after pie in the face contest

We enjoyed having our first Pep Rally on the new Gym Floor last week! Our BCS cheerleaders did an amazing job of pumping up the Eagle Spirit as we introduced the athletic teams and even had a pie in the face contest that Mr. Sikes and Mrs. Pulido tied in! We are so thankful that they are not only good sports, but amazing leaders for BCS. It was fun had by all as we went into the JH boys last football game of the season and a win for both JH and Varsity Football teams against Living Stones in Alvin.

Cross Country

BCS Cross Country Team
This week our Varsity Cross Country team participated in the State Run for TAPPS. We had a great season with (3) school records being broken, (2) by Noah Norrell, and (1) by Emma Rhyne. Great job across the board to all of our Cross Country Runners! Go Eagles!
