Brazosport Christian School
The Season of ThanksgivingWritten by Anna Magallanes, Director of Development
Here’s what’s going on at BCS!
If you didn’t hear it on Veteran’s day, BCS wants to take the time to say Thank You to all Veterans for your sacrifices for our freedom. Our first grade had the opportunity to hear from one of our very own Doralee Ramos who is a Veteran from the United States Navy. As you can see our students were very excited to hear about her story and what it was like working on a ship. Friday November 11, we encouraged all students and staff to dress in camo for school and for the game to remember Veterans, and we honored them with recognition at halftime.
Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes is something BCS participates in every year, below you’ll see our fifth graders pray over the shoeboxes. Each year Samaritan’s Purse sends thousands of filled shoeboxes to children all over the world. Each child also participates in a discipleship program where many receive salvation. We are grateful for the opportunity to take part in such a massive global ministry. Our students did a great job by filling over 125 boxes.
Giving Tuesday this year is November 22nd. Created in 2012, it’s a day set aside for giving, whether it be your time or donation, it’s a movement to inspire giving to others. This Tuesday, please take the time to make a difference, make someone smile, help a neighbor, or donate to your favorite local charity. If you are interested in making a donation to Brazosport Christian School, or know someone who is, please use the button below to make your donation! This link will be available for donations through the end of November. Thank you for all that you do for our school!!
We are excited to be hosting our first Career and College fair on January 31st! We are hosting several local area parents, office holders, and business owners to speak to our high school students about what it took to get into their career path. If you are interested in helping out please contact Phillip Piper at ppiper@1bcs.org.
Stop in Aseil’s Restaurant in Lake Jackson to grab a scrumptious bite to eat and enjoy some Woolly Mammoth artwork from your very own BCS students! Art will be proudly displayed through November 25th. Thank you Asiel’s for supporting BCS!
Do you have time to volunteer on the Woot Woot Wagon? PTF has a traveling cart filled with goodies each Friday that they treat our teachers and staff too. Would you be willing to donate items to the cart or work a shift? If so, please use the button to sign up! Thank you for all you do for BCS!!!
