We’re Back!!!
First Week of School Recap
The halls are filled with students’ laughter and joy again as school has started up this week! New friends are being made, new classes are being attended, teachers and students alike are working out the kinks of scheduling, seating charts, and first week jitters. This year Brazosport Christian School is accomodating almost 300 students on campus and it’s amazing to see and hear the shuffling of so many spirit filled students as they move from one class to the next.
Pre-school at Brazosport Christian School consists of exploring our world with their senses and incorporating learning with play. Our Preschoolers have a curriculum they follow that includes classes such as physical education, art, music, library, and chapel. Individual work, as well as large and small group times provide opportunities for hands-on learning that reinforce skills that prepare them for kindergarten and elementary school.
Our elementary students have the opportunity to be learning with our new curriculum this year! “BJU Press provides educational materials written from a biblical worldview that focus on academic rigor and encourage critical thinking – all supported by appropriate educational technology.” (bjupress.com). With this highly engaging and active curriculum, our students grow spiritually and intellectually. Elementary students also enjoy classes such as art, music, physical education, library, and chapel.
Junior High at Brazosport Christian School has exploded this year on campus. All grade levels have split into two classes to accommodate the students and still keep the small class size that we strive to achieve. We help each student meet their potential with academic challenges and personal growth opportunities. Along with their core studies, Junior High students have classes such as art, music, technology, physical education, library, and chapel. Sports are also introduced to this group of students with football, volleyball, and cheerleading to start the school off.
High School at Brazosport Chirstian School is college preparatory with an implementation of a strong spiritual community. Core classes for high school and dual credit are offered along with extracurricular sports, electives, and opportunities to serve spiritually. BCS offers an environment where daily prayer, weekly chapel, contact with christian leaders, and bible studies help the students be prepared intellectually and spiritually for life after graduation.
The day before school started our wonderful PTF provided an amazing breakfast to our faculty and staff. If you are interested in helping out with PTF or any of the volunteer opportunities they offer, please visit our website at 1bcs.org and find PTF for information on how to join in on the fun!
This has been an amazing first week of school! Brazosport Christian School wants to thank you for choosing our educational system for your family and are glad to have you as an Eagle. Welcome to the new families and welcome back to our existing families, it’s going to be a great year!
