Eagle Updates Newsletter – Sep 22, 2025
A Note from Mr. Burris
This week, students across the nation will participate in See You at the Pole, and our students at BCS will be taking part as well.
This student-led time of prayer will be held around our school’s flagpoles at 8:00 AM on Wednesday, September 24th. Since its beginning in the 1990s, See You at the Pole has remained focused on prayer—and this year is no different. Together, students, staff, and any parents who are able to join us will gather to lift up our school, families, churches, community, and nation before the Lord.
“Prayer is the open admission that without Christ we can do nothing. And prayer is the turning away from ourselves to God in the confidence that He will provide the help we need.”
— John Piper
In my five years at BCS, my deepest desire has been to see genuine revival in the hearts of our students, staff, and families. I truly believe that revival begins when we recognize our total dependence on the Lord—and we express that dependence through prayer. Without a steadfast commitment to prayer, revival will remain out of reach.
The Apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:6:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
There is so much to pray for in these times. We invite you to join us this Wednesday morning as we humble ourselves and call out to the Lord Jesus together.
