A Note from the Head of School
September has been an outstanding month to be a part of the BCS community. While the seasonal weather shift hasn’t been what my family and I are used to, settling into the rhythms of a new school year feels very familiar. We have officially survived (and thrived through) our first homecoming. For me, hearing the stories of spiritual growth and renewal from the recent high school retreat, watching our seniors take on the role of “small group leaders” for the rest of the secondary students as they pour into those coming behind them, and listening in awe as the elementary students sing their hearts out in chapel are all such incredible rewards of being a part of this incredible school. God is at work. There is no mistaking it.
May He continue to do among us “infinitely more than we can ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20).
For His Glory,
Dr. Bruce Hanlon

Missions Volunteer Needed
Our Missions Class is looking for a volunteer to help with our Elementary Chapel food collection. Food items are collected during chapel and need to be boxed up and delivered to Brazoria County Dream Center.
The commitment would be one delivery every two weeks throughout the school year. Boxes are also needed for the donations, so if you have extra Amazon boxes at home, they would be put to great use!
If you’re interested in helping with this ministry, please email pwied@1bcs.org. Thank you for helping us serve our community!
Save the Date, Elementary Parents!
Join us for Elementary Open House on Thursday, October 22 at 5:30 PM! Come visit your child’s classroom, see what they’ve been learning, and celebrate all they’ve been up to!
