A Note from the Head of School
What an honor it has been for my family and me to be so warmly welcomed into the Brazosport Christian community. After arriving, it didn’t take us long to understand the truth behind the phrase, “I’m not from Texas, but I got here as soon as I could.” I could say the same for BCS.
As someone who has had a front-row seat to the inner workings of a number of different Christian schools both in the U.S. and overseas, I can tell you with all confidence that God is unmistakably at work at BCS. In all honesty, I have never come across a group of teachers and staff members so single-minded in their love both for God and Christian education as I’ve seen here. It is humbling to walk through the classrooms and witness our staff so earnestly pouring knowledge and biblical truth into the students every day. There is also a sweet spirit of unity among the staff that makes coming to work each day a real joy.
Our theme verse for the year is John 15:2, which is where Jesus says, “…every branch that does bear fruit [my Father] prunes, so that it will be even more fruitful.” God has allowed BCS to be a beacon of His truth in the Lake Jackson area since 1980, and as we move toward our 50th anniversary in just a few years, I’m thrilled to be a part of all God has in store to allow us to be “even more fruitful.”
For His Glory,
Dr. Bruce Hanlon
BCS Head of School
